Van Jennings, 81, of Cadiz

Van Clifford Jennings, age 81, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at his home in Cadiz.

He was born on April 20, 1945, in Sevierville, Tennessee, to the late Dewey and Mary Grace (Ollis) Jennings.

Van, known as “Bubby” to his family and friends, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. After his military service, he worked in the manufacturing industry across various locations until his retirement.

Van was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family. Known as a jokester, he never met a stranger – he was a people person through and through, always willing to lend a hand.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters Leona Jennings and Vanessa Jennings, his grandchildren James Grubb and Aarron Jennings, his brother Hobert Donald Jennings, his sisters Margaret Welch and Thelma Jennings, and his stepson Kip Meece.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Phyllis Kay Jennings of Cadiz, his children Darrin Jennings, Amanda Jennings, both of Knoxville, TN, and Felicia Pallasch (Daniel) of Blanchard, OK, his stepdaughter Elizabeth Tarver (Heith) of Cadiz, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, his brothers Hubert Jennings (Anita) and Dewey Lee Jennings (Carol) and sisters Linda Jennings and Brenda Rogers, all of Knoxville,

There will be no services at this time.

Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, is in care of arrangements.
