Couple Charged With Wanton Endangerment

Authorities say a Cadiz couple was arrested at a Linton Road home after officers found meth within reach of a child.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies went to a home in the 16000 block Tuesday night around 10:45 to serve a warrant for failure to appear on 26-year old Sierrah Mathis. Mathis’ boyfriend, 27-year old Thomas Paul Hart, Jr. answered the door and stated she wasn’t home but gave them consent to enter the home. Deputies say they found Mathis hiding under a couch in the living room, as well as a glass pipe and small tin in plain view that Hart admitted was meth, which was within reach of a 4-year old child inside the home.

Hart and Mathis were lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with first-degree wanton endangerment. Hart was also charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), second-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
