Trigg County Dispatch has a new telecommunicator who recently graduated from the Public Safety Dispatch Academy (PSDA) at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training.
Officials say Theresa Marie Latham was among 23 law enforcement dispatchers who graduated Friday as part of the 124th Public Safety Dispatch Academy and completed five weeks of training that consisted of 205 hours of academy instruction to satisfy mandated training requirements.
Major training areas included identifying the role and responsibilities of the dispatcher, correct phone and radio procedures, handling emergency and non-emergency service calls, emergency medical dispatch protocols and use of the state and national crime databases.
The Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training is located on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University.
