Trigg Magistrates Approve First Reading Of Annual Tax Levy

Trigg County magistrates heard and approved the first reading of the annual tax levy during their meeting Monday evening.

Foster, Soyars & Associates Attorney Mike Foster says the recommendation from Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander is to keep the same real estate tax rate as last year.

Magistrates approved the first reading, with Alana Dunn absent from the meeting. With the eight-cent per $100 tax rate, it’s estimated the county would collect over $680,000. All other tax rates would also remain the same.

In other business, magistrates approved a Kentucky Transportation Resolution for over $271,000 to pave five sections of roadway throughout the county.

Magistrates also approved to extend Rockin R Road by one-tenth of a mile to reach a new home that was built on the road that is off of Highway 274 near the Lyon County line.

The next Trigg County Fiscal Court meeting will take place Tuesday evening, September 3 at 6:00 due to the Labor Day holiday.
