38 Dogs Removed From Trigg County Home

Animal Control removed 38 dogs from a home off of Rockcastle Road in Trigg County Wednesday morning and the breeder is facing numerous charges.

Trigg County Animal Control Officer Torrie Davis and some volunteers removed the various breeds of big and small dogs and took them to the Christian County Animal Shelter. Davis told the News Edge at the Animal Shelter she started an investigation about two weeks ago after receiving an anonymous tip regarding dogs living in unsanitary conditions.

She added this is why they preach “Adopt, Don’t Shop” because if you don’t investigate your breeders, your puppy could be coming from a similar situation.

On Monday, the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office charged Linda Compton in this case and cited her to court. Davis ssid all of the dogs removed were owner-released, except two.

Davis confirmed to the News Edge several of the dogs have tested positive for heartworms.

She encourages breeders and animal owners to be responsible.

Davis said the dogs will be up for adoption at the Christian County Animal Shelter Thursday.
