Crofton Awarded Funding For Pavement Improvements

The City of Crofton has been awarded nearly $71,000 in discretionary funds for critical pavement improvements. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Rural and Municipal Aid Commissioner Gray Tomblyn II made the announcement at the Crofton City Council meeting Tuesday night.

The funds will be used to address resurfacing repairs on existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling and base failures on Rabbit Ridge Road, North Anderson Street, Clara Street, Kelvin Drive, and West Mill Street.

Officials indicate the $70,905 investment supports Governor Matt Bevin’s commitment to prioritize transportation infrastructure projects and increase economic opportunity across the state.

Officials say Crofton Mayor Daniel Lacy identified these roads as being among the most critical in the county. The mayor said the City is very grateful for the Governor’s discretionary funds made available to address much-needed repairs on Crofton’s streets. He added the City’s existing funds are not enough to meet all of their needs, so the extra monies are greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile, the City of Princeton was awarded $110,500 Tuesday night for pavement improvements. The discretionary funds will be used for resurfacing repairs to address existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling, and base failure on Baldwin Avenue, Harvey Lane, West Washington Street, and Parkway Drive. Officials say the roads set to be addressed provide access to more than 50 homes and 14 businesses, and serve as school bus routes.
