Magistrates Approve Last Payment For Emerging Technologies Center

Christian Fiscal Court magistrates approved the final payment for the Hopkinsville Community College Emerging Technologies Center at Tuesday morning’s meeting.

Pennyrile Area Development District Associate Director Amy Frogue explained to magistrates approximately $446,000 would be the final draw from the $500,000 Community Development Block Grant for the HCC Emerging Technology Center.

Judge-Executive Steve Tribble said he was thankful, with the help of Trigg County, they were able to get the grant funding to pay for the project.
Magistrates also approved a change order request with South Western Communications to upgrade the intercom system at the Christian County Jail that Jailer Brad Boyd said would allow them to communicate with inmates in every cell.

A downtown resolution establishing incentives for State Farm Insurance Agent Michael Venable who recently moved his office downtown was approved after magistrate Darrell Gustafson explained the rebate.

And Ash Brunson with the Christian County Water District read a resolution in honor of attorney John Kirkham, who passed away in September.

He noted the resolution will be presented to Kirkham’s wife, Barbara.

The next regular meeting of fiscal court will be Tuesday morning, November 26, at 8:30.
