Rotary Club District 6710 is hosting a fundraiser to help PolioPlus, an organization that’s a part of the End Polio Now campaign through Rotary International.
District Governor Otha Ray Stearman spoke to the Cadiz Rotary Club Tuesday and tells the News Edge BearHuggs will be a service project during their conference in mid-May.
Stearman adds with each purchase your donation will receive a double match thanks to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
PolioPlus is working to eradicate Polio and combat other issues for residents in countries still dealing with the disease.
Rotary International led the way in eradicating the disease and as of last year, there were only 90 confirmed cases in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
