Governor Andy Beshear confirmed Saturday there were no new deaths from COVID-19.
According to a news release from the governor’s office, 148 new cases were confirmed Saturday afternoon bringing the state’s total to 8,571. The total number of Kentuckians lost to the virus still remains at 391. Governor Beshear says this is the second time in about a month and a half that there were no new deaths reported.
Additionally, Beshear is urging all residents to be safe over the holiday weekend and asks that all gatherings continue to have 10 or fewer people.
Other guidance issued from the governor’s office this weekend includes; wearing masks, maintaining social distancing of six feet or more, gathering outside instead of inside, washing hands frequently, and covering food and individually wrapping plates.
