Christian County’s Active COVID Cases Increase By Thirteen

The Christian County Health Department reported an increase of thirteen new active cases Saturday afternoon, pushing the county’s total to 809 since the beginning of the outbreak.

The new positive cases increased in all four age categories since Friday’s report. The largest increase of those infected with the virus is in the 22 to 59-year old age group which rose by seven, followed by an increase of three in the 21-years of age or younger category.

As of Saturday, Amanda Sweeney with the health reported there are 256 active cases in the county. Of those, 128 of the cases are 22 to 59 years of age; 58 are 21-years old or younger; 55 are 60 to 84 years of age; and, eight are 85 or older.

Of the 809 cases, 542 people have recovered.

Christian County has had eleven deaths related to the virus.
