Hopkinsville Man Found With Stolen Gun During Warrant Arrest

A Hopkinsville man was found with a stolen gun after being arrested on a warrant on Evergreen Park Drive Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 21-year-old Jacobie Penman was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear, during the arrest officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside his home.

Officers were able to get a search warrant and reportedly found two partially smoked marijuana cigarettes, a glass jar of marijuana, along with two Smith & Wesson firearms.

Police say one gun was under a couch and the second was behind a furnace, both guns were loaded with hollow-point ammunition and one of them had been reported stolen out of Oak Grove.

Penman is charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property, and possession of marijuana.
