Trigg Law Enforcement Says Digital Switch Will Improve Coverage, Officer Safety

Law enforcement in Trigg County has completed the switch to digital radios which they say will improve and expand the county’s coverage area and provide more officer safety.

Sheriff Aaron Acree said officers began using the new system Monday which continues his mission of officer safety.

Under the old analog radio system, there were areas of southern Trigg County, areas near Linton, and areas of Land Between the Lakes where officers were unable to communicate with their dispatcher due to low areas of terrain and areas with no cellular phone service. Acree said the use of three tower repeaters will improve the coverage area.

Acree said most people with scanners will notice they can no longer hear the police department and sheriff’s department activity.
