A Durham, North Carolina, man was charged after he reportedly fled from law enforcement in downtown Hopkinsville Friday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 43-year-old Jason Brinkley for driving on the wrong side of the road near North Main Street and East 1st Street when he fled.

During the pursuit, he reportedly ran off the road hitting a curb, and failed to stop at a stop sign before pulling into the courthouse parking lot.

Brinkley was arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, DUI, and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.
