Pair Indicted on Drug Trafficking Charges

A Cadiz woman and an Illinois man have been indicted by a Trigg County Jury on drug trafficking charges that stemmed from a traffic stop in Cadiz in October.

41-year-old Ross Herrin of Cedar Lake, Indiana, and 42-year-old Jacquelyn Puma of Cadiz were both indicted by the December session of the grand jury on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, Puma was indicted for possession of marijuana, and Heflin was indicted on a possession of a controlled substance charge.

Cadiz Police said on October 17 they stopped to assist the couple in a parking lot on Jefferson Street. Police say the pair were found to have active warrants and, after a search of their belongings, 14.5 pounds of meth was discovered.
