Christian County Public School officials announced Wednesday that families of South Christian Elementary School recently received $8,000 in disaster relief — courtesy of the Family Resource and Youth Services Center “Strong for Kentucky” funds.
This monetary thread should help families rebuild and repair, following the aftermath of tornadoes experienced on December 10 and 11.
Tara Toliver, FRYSC coordinator at South Christian Elementary School, notes her office is working extra hard to serve local children and families, “in hopes of making their lives better.” And when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., asked: “What are you doing for others?,” she believes FRYSC team members have only answered with service to local communities.
The FRYSC “Strong for Kentucky” Fund was created by the Family Resource and Youth Services Coalition of Kentucky, Inc., through donations collected from individuals, corporations, foundations and the private sector.
The FRYSC KY is an advocacy organization that serves all of Kentucky’s 850 youth and service center coordinators, who work in public schools across the Commonwealth. It is the largest school-based family support network in the country.
