VFW Relief Fund Available for Vets Who Suffered Tornado Damage

When tornadoes struck western Kentucky in December and January, help arrived from across the country in the form of volunteers and donations.

Veterans of Foreign Wars posts from across the country also got together and sent relief supplies and money to those areas greatly affected by the storm damage. Karle Johnson of the VFW Post 7890 said Kentucky still has money in its relief fund for veterans who may have suffered a loss.

click to download audioJohnson also had praise for another relief group run by veterans — Team Rubicon — who arrived to help with cleanup efforts in Caldwell County and Dawson Springs. He added he would like to see some of the relief funds help the veterans of Caldwell County.
