Two Hopkinsville men were charged with theft of a registration plate after a traffic stop on East 18th Street in Hopkinsville Saturday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 47-year-old Manuel Herrera after being alerted that his license plate was seen on city cameras and was reported stolen.
He reportedly claimed the plate was on the vehicle when he purchased it. Police say Herrera’s passenger 45-year-old James Goode was captured on video taking the license plate.
They were both charged with theft of a registration plate. Herrera was also cited for failure to maintain required insurance and failure to register the transfer of a motor vehicle.
