Booker Makes Quick Stop In HopkinsvilleFriday

From “the hood to the holler,” Kentucky Senator-hopeful Charles Booker spent the bulk of Friday traveling across the western part of the Commonwealth — a late stop in the far parking lot of the Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville drawing a tight-knit crowd of supporters in his cause.

Much like his Republican opponent, incumbent Rand Paul, the Louisville native is looking to make his final stand — with the early voting already underway, and the general election on the horizon.

Booker said he’s “feeling good” about these final moments.

The Paul campaign recently unveiled a number of mailers and a 30-second commercial attacking Booker’s efforts and public perception.

Booker called the move an “act of desperation.”

Booker, most recently, made an appearance opposite of KET’s Renee Shaw to discuss his platform and beliefs, dispelling notions that he wanted to “defund the police.”

Furthermore, in what’s recently been a Republican family reunion, Booker was one just a few Democrats to accept his invitation and make a speaking appearance at the 2022 Fancy Farm Picnic in Graves County.

The largest political stump stage in the country, Booker said he made that choice to attend less as a politician, and more as a person.

Early voting provides benefits for Republicans, Democrats, Independents and other off-shoot parties. Booker noted it was time to just get out and vote.

Booker said anyone on the fence about whom to vote for, him or Paul, need only look at what he wants to do once he gets to Washington D.C.

Booker’s Friday bus run also took him through Henderson, Madisonville, Powderly and Paducah, before ending the trip in Bowling Green.
