Demps Wins Family Court Judge While Atkins Re-elected As Circuit Judge

Katherine Demps won the new Christian County Family Court seat, with Circuit Judge John Atkins earning another term on the bench.

Demps defeated former Family Court Judge Judy Hall 8038 votes to 4546. Demps says she has some goals for the new Family Court Judge role that she will begin January 1.

click to download audioMeanwhile Divisione One Christian County Circuit Judge John Atkins held off a challenge from former assistant Commonwealth Attorney Stephanie Bolen. Atkins garnered 9,082 votes compared to 4,130 for Bolen. Judge Atkins said he is proud to earn the trust of the people for a fourth term.
