Even as the threat of severe weather is part of the forecast for Friday, emergency officials will begin regular monthly testing of the storm siren in Cadiz Saturday.
Trigg County Emergency Management Director David Bryant tells Your News Edge the system has not been under a regular testing cycle for quite some time.
Bryant says the sirens are helpful, but should not be the main way you receive information about Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado warnings.
The Cadiz storm siren is located at the intersection of Lafayette Street and Midway Street.
The monthly siren testing will occur on the first Saturday of every month at Noon, barring any severe weather chances.
