Oak Grove Officer Injured In Eagle Way Crash

A wreck on Eagle Way in Hopkinsville sent an Oak Grove Police officer to a Nashville hospital Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say the officer 24-year-old Zachary Lancaster, of Hopkinsville, was heading toward Lafayette Road when his vehicle struck the back of a truck driven by 24-year-old Aerias Williams, of Clarksville. Lancaster was treated and then flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

Police say Lancaster was able to talk with them but the full extent of his injuries was unknown.

Lancaster was reportedly heading into work but was not responding to a call at the time of the crash.

Police say Williams was going 15mph with his hazard lights on due to not knowing how to use a manual transmission.

The cause of the crash, which occurred just before 10pm, is still under investigation.
