Crider Named Interim Principal For Christian County High School

Kevin Crider has been selected to serve as interim principal for Christian County High School, effective July 1. He most recently served as the consolidation coordinator for the Christian County Public Schools district.

The news was announced by Superintendent Chris Bentzel Tuesday afternoon and follows the consultation with CCHS’s Site-Based Decision-Making Council.

Bentzel said Crider was the “right person” to fill the position because of his successful leadership at Christian County Middle School, and his familiarity with the entire student body.

Crider is a graduate of CCHS and began his 24-year teaching career at his Alma mater in 1999. He taught and served as head baseball coach, winning the state championship with CCHS in 2004.

In 2006, he transitioned to athletic director for two years before moving into the role of assistant principal at CCHS in 2008. He was selected as principal of CCMS in 2015, where he continued until accepting the position of consolidation coordinator last year.

He’s also a graduate of Austin Peay State University and Murray State University, and holds a master’s degree in education along with his Rank 1.

He and his wife, Mindy, reside in Hopkinsville and have two children and one grandson.
