Man Charged With Possession Of Drugs After Blocking Traffic On Interstate 24

A Clayton, North Carolina man was charged with possession of drugs after he was found blocking traffic on Interstate 24 in Trigg County Friday afternoon.

Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree says 38-year-old William Woodhouse was found slumped over the steering wheel of his tractor-trailer blocking traffic and gave multiple stories about where he was heading.

Law enforcement could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana and after a search of the vehicle, a backpack was found with a glass pipe and meth inside along with several prescription pain pills not prescribed to him and alcoholic beverages.

Acree says Woodhouse admitted to smoking meth in the past. He was arrested and charged with possession of meth, prescription controlled substances not in proper containers, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Acree and Detective Shawn Young are investigating the incident.
