Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Granted Clean 2021-22 Audit

Debbie Fuller and Calhoun & Company delivered positive news to the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourist & Convention Commission earlier this week, announcing the organization produced a clean audit for the 2022-23 fiscal year.

She noted nearly $700,000 in revenue was generated through the office during this stretch, stemming from 77% in restaurant tax, 20% in transient tax, 2% in grant revenue and 1% in matching funds.

Furthermore, there were nearly $600,000 of incurred expenses — 36% of which went to advertising Cadiz and Trigg County amenities, 21% for interlocal revenue sharing, 19% in office salaries, 6% in events, and a 18% in miscellaneous projects and concerns each accounting for less than $15,000.

Two of the larger single-item offerings from the budget, she added, were a $20,000 donation for the “Put A Roof On It” leadership project for the Cadiz-Trigg County Farmer’s Market, and the annual $20,000 promise to the Trigg County Country Ham Festival.

Revenue was up nearly 10% from 2021 to 2022, and expenses were up 18% in the same span. But the carry over eclipsed $131,000 two years ago, and $100,000 now.
