The City of Cadiz presented a donation to this year’s Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s effort Tuesday afternoon.

The $2,349 check came from the September 9th Memory Makers walk hosted by the city.

An emotional Todd King, mayor of Cadiz, told Your News Edge that Alzheimer’s research is important to him.

Mayor King promised the local effort would become an annual event.

Event organizer and Renaissance on Main Director Brianna Hyde said she worked with the regional effort to learn how they host a similar event.

New Western Kentucky Walk to End Alzheimer’s Manager Danita Reiger-Ward, who helps with the events in Hopkinsville, Bowling Green, Paducah, and Elizabethtown, was very impressed with the Cadiz event.

Hopkinsville’s annual walk will be held this Saturday at the Christian County Justice Center beginning at 9:00. The walk starts at 10:00.

Ward said the best way to donate, is by giving to a team participating in a local walk. The Edge Media Group has a team that will participate in the walk, you can donate here.
