Martha Stallons Edwards was born in Cadiz, KY on November 6, 1947, to James Edward Stallons and Zelma Gray Stallons.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Edwards; two brothers, Jerry Stallons and Jimmy Stallons, two sisters-in-law, Fely Stallons and Sam Edwards and two nephews, Chris Stallons and Todd Edwards.

She passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her home.

Martha’s purpose in life was to love and serve Jesus. Her greatest desire was that everyone would know Him. Nothing brought her more joy than sacrificially giving herself away for others. She loved to shower others with acts of kindness and generosity.  She was known for dropping off donuts, flowers, and other gifts on the front porch of family, friends, neighbors, or anyone who she discerned had a need.

Martha was a homemaker, a member of the Cadiz Methodist Church, charter member of the East Cadiz Baptist Church where she worked with Children and Youth in Sunday School, VBS, Children’s Choir, Bible Drills, pianist, bus ministry, GA’s, WMU and Baptist Women. She was the recipient of the 2018 Woodmen Life Caring for Others Award and the 2014 Trigg Co. Chamber of Commerce Good Samaritan Award.  “While her joy and smile lit up every room, Martha has never been more alive than she is right now – in the presence of her Savior. She gave her life praying and pleading that one day all of her friends and loved ones will join her there.
