Names Released In Fatal Greenville Road Crash

Authorities have released more information about a wreck on Greenville Road in Christian County that killed one person and sent a woman and child to the hospital Thursday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called just after 10 a.m. for a wreck involving two vehicles at the intersection of Greenville Road and Kentucky 1682 and found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies say a car driven by 66-year-old Cindy Walker of Hopkinsville was turning onto Greenville Road from Kentucky 1682 and pulled into the path of a southbound car driven by 77-year-old Phyllis Dickerson of Christian County.

Two passersby Ryan Plock of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee, and Shawn Mitchell of Cadiz pulled Dickerson and a child 11-year-old Kyle Aldridge of Hopkinsville out of her car before it caught fire after the crash.

Aldridge was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health to meet a helicopter that took the child to a Nashville hospital for head injuries. Walker was also taken to Jennie Stuart Health for injuries.

Dickerson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Christian County Rescue, Hopkinsville EMS and Fire, and Kentucky State Police.

The names of everyone involved in the crash were released after the family was notified.
