Graveside services for 81-year-old William “Bill” Lloyd Holtsman of Cadiz, formerly of Palestine, Ill. will be held at a later date at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Palestine, Ill.. Burial will follow in the cemetery. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements and Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, IL is in charge of the out-of-town arrangements.

William “Bill” Loyd Holtsman entered into his heavenly journey on January 16, 2024, at Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray, KY.
He was born in Crocker, MO on April 30, 1942, to Raymond & Mary Virginia Griffin Holtsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his First Wife, Rochelle Holtsman; Grandson, Anthony James Boyer and Great Grandson, Pierson Alexander Morgan.
His family relocated to Palestine, IL in the early 1950s where he enjoyed growing up. After finishing college at Eastern Illinois University he worked as an accountant in Chicago, IL until returning to Palestine to work alongside his Dad in the family timber and sawmill business in Flat Rock, IL. In 1979 he became owner and operator of Marathon Tire Service in Olney, IL retiring in 2000. He was a kind and thoughtful man who enjoyed spending time with loved ones and pets, traveling, hunting, especially making fishing lures and musky fishing, his favorite hobby.
