Family Displaced In Wednesday Night East 13th Street Fire (w/VIDEO)

A home on East 13th Street in Hopkinsville was badly damaged in a fire Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they were called for smoke filling the home and found a fire under the structure that quickly spread to the rest of the home.

The home has extensive smoke damage and due to the damage and power having to be shut off the family will be temporarily displaced.

Rogers says the fire is believed to have started with a heater underneath the home being used to warm up frozen pipes.

The family was able to get out uninjured along with their dog. The home is located at 901 East 13th Street.
