HPD Human Trafficking Investigation Leads to Arrest in Indiana

Police in Indiana have arrested a man on a Christian County warrant for human trafficking following a multi-state investigation that originated in Hopkinsville.

According to WXKE Radio, 23-year-old Zavian Jones was arrested on January 22 in Ossian, Indiana, a town of 3,300 south of Fort Wayne. He is facing charges in Christian County for Human Trafficking of a Victim under 12; Use of a Minor under 16 in a Sexual Performance and four counts of Procuring a Minor by Electronic Means.

Indiana State Police did not release many details of the arrest other than to say its Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant of the home and the out-of-state arrest warrant.

The radio station reported the charges were related to a child exploitation investigation alleged to involve the enticement of minor children via electronic means.

Jones was lodged in the Wells County Jail pending extradition back to Kentucky.

The Hopkinsville Police Department originated the investigation with assistance from the Indiana State Police, Fort Wayne Police Department, Ossian Police Department, the US Department of Homeland Security, and US Customs.
