Christian County’s girls led wire-to-wire Saturday afternoon while posting a 73-56 victory at Caldwell County.

The Lady Colonels (16-8) scored the first 10 points of the game as part of a 16-2 run to open the contest.

Caldwell (7-20) did settle down and got back as close as 18-15 early in the second quarter.

But by halftime the Lady Colonels had pushed their margin back to 33-20.

It was 50-34 through three quarters, and Christian extended its lead to over 20 points in the final stanza on the way to the 17-point triumph.

Christian, which hopes to challenge for the 2nd Region championship, got 23 points from Anasia Bagwell and another 16 from Lazarie Daniel. Amari Northington added 13 for the Lady Colonels. NeVaeh Day and DaNiya Bradley each had six points and eight rebounds. Day also recorded five steals.
