Earlier this week, during the Kentucky School Public Relations Association’s Spring Conference, Christian County Public Schools Public Information Officer Johnna Brown was awarded the OV Jones Memorial Award — stemming from outstanding service to the Kentucky School Public Relations Association and school public relations.

This is the top award for School Public Relations in the state.

The award is named for the late former superintendent of Grant County Schools and the first superintendent to join the Kentucky School Public Relations Association.

In a written statement, Brown said she was “at a loss for words,” and that KYSPRA has “truly been a wonderful organization to be a part of throughout [her] career.”

Brown has spent the last 12 years with the CCPS communication department, and the last three as the director of communication.

Brown was nominated for the award by Mary Mac Dyer, public relations coordinator for Western Kentucky Educational Cooperative.
