Hopkinsville Man Charged With Assaulting A Police Officer

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly assaulted a police officer during a fight on South Main Street in Hopkinsville Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the Manhattan Motel for a fight and found 23-year-old Keyivoran Pettigrew and another man fighting.

Pettigrew reportedly tried to walk off after officers broke up the fight then started yelling and resisting arrest when he was stopped.

Police say after further investigation it was found that he had broken a neighbor’s door and another person’s prescription glasses.

During the arrest, Pettigrew reportedly caused injuries to one of the officer’s hands.

He is lodged at the Christian County Jail on charges of third-degree criminal mischief, alcohol intoxication in a public place, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and third-degree assault of a police officer.
