Trial Date Set for 2022 DUI Injury Crash

A Fort Campbell soldier charged with felony assault stemming from a 2022 DUI crash on I-24 has seen a trial date set for November.

Nickolas Lack is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, DUI, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies said a car driven by Lack struck a truck that was parked on the side of the interstate near the Oak Grove/Hopkinsville exit. 53-year-old John Bright of Benton was in the back of the truck as part of a construction crew and was thrown from the vehicle.

Both Bright and Lack were flown to Nashville hospitals for treatment of injuries.

Judge Andrew Self set a trial date of November 14.

Lack’s attorney, Jacob Mathis, said Lack will be leaving the military in April.
