The League of Women Voters of Hopkinsville will be having three candidate forums in the coming week for the Hopkinsville City Council primary races.
The forums are open to the public and will be held in the Hopkinsville City Council Chambers on South Virginia Street.
Seven of the 12 Hopkinsville wards will see a contested race in the primary.
On Thursday, April 4, at 5:00, the forum will feature Ward 1 Republican candidates Vance Smith and Natasha Francis.
The 5:30 forum will feature Ward 9 Democratic candidates Ardell Owens, Angelique Victor, and Monike Love.
At 6:30, it will be Ward 9 Republican candidates Jamie Lienberger and Brittanie Bogard.
On Monday, April 8, the forum will feature candidates for Wards 4, 5 and 7.
On Thursday, April 11, the forums will feature candidates for Wards 10 and 12.
The primary election is May 21 and voters can only cast a vote for the races that match their party affiliation.
Residents who aren’t registered to vote in Kentucky have until April 22 to do so and still vote in the May primary election.
