Janet Hopson, 48, of Hopkinsville

Janet Elaine Tolliver Hopson, 48, Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, in Gallatin, Tenn.

Janet was the daughter of Dorothy Jean Tolliver and the late Ellis James Tolliver. She was born on August 23, 1975, in Christian County.

Janet was a member of Silver Star Baptist Church where she was an Usher, Choir Member, and assistant to the pianist. She was employed as a Patient Advocate with Pennyrile Center

Janey loved fishing, agriculture, family crochet, and shopping. She was a 4-H county, state, and national winner. She was a graduate of Focus Leadership and National Leadership Society. She was the Who’s Who in American Colleges and a Lindsey Wilson Alumni.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip C. Hopson; father-in-law, J.P. Hopson; mother-in-law, Emma Hopson; maternal grandparents, William C. and Precious W. Abshire; paternal grandparents, Ben and Helen Tolliver; aunt Cora B.Tolliver.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her brother, Kenneth Tolliver; aunt Josephine Furlow Albert; bonus children, Phillip C. Civils, J’Corryion Weston, LaToni Hopson, Phillishia Hopson, Remiah Jessup; sister-in-law, Rozeta Hopson and Angela Lax.

Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 10 at 11:00 at Gamble Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Russellville.

Visitation will be on Friday morning at 11:00.
