Joy Closet is searching for a new executive director following the resignation of founder Heather Gray, just days after the opening of the organization’s new Hope House facility.
Gray announced her departure in a Facebook post, reflecting on her work with the foster and kinship communities as “one of the greatest honors of her life.” She founded Joy Closet in 2021 to support families who adopt and later spearheaded the Hope House project, designed to reduce the trauma children experience when removed from their homes.
Gray shared her hope that the organization’s current leadership will “stay true to the original vision, one built on a foundation of faith.” She also thanked her team for their dedicated work.
