Trigg County Hospital has confirmed that some patient information was affected by a recent cyberattack on Blue, Inc., a company that provides accounting and CPA services to the hospital and other healthcare organizations in Kentucky.

Blue, Inc. works with Trigg County Hospital on various financial matters, including cost reports and Medicare/insurance audits. In the course of this work, the company is given access to patient information. A recent cyberattack compromised one of Blue, Inc.’s systems containing data related to Trigg County Hospital patients.

While not all of Blue, Inc.’s systems were affected, the company is proactively notifying individuals who may have been impacted out of an abundance of caution. The hospital emphasizes that this notification does not mean that a person’s information has been misused, but rather that there is a potential risk.

Letters have been sent to affected individuals. These letters contain resources and information on how to monitor credit and personal information for signs of identity theft. They also include details on credit monitoring bureaus.

Trigg County Hospital urges all who receive a letter to read it carefully and take advantage of the resources provided. Patients with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the hospital directly for assistance.
