Christian County Animal Shelter is partnering with the national nonprofit Petco Love to invite adopters to share how their pets have changed their lives through Petco Love Stories.

Submissions are being accepted through September 29, and each story featuring a pet adopted from Christian County Animal Shelter gives the shelter a chance to earn up to $100,000 in lifesaving funding.

The annual campaign celebrates the unique bond between adopted pets and their families while supporting the animal welfare organizations that make those adoptions possible. Since 2013, more than 25,000 adopters have participated, and Petco Love has awarded $8 million in investments to shelters across the country. Earlier this year, the organization awarded $500,000 to 25 partners, including a $100,000 grand prize winner.

Stories can be submitted in writing (500 words or less), accompanied by photos, or through a public social media video link. Submissions are open to adopters ages 18 and older, or with parental consent, and must be entered before the September 29 deadline.

Christian County Animal Shelter is encouraging all past adopters to participate and help highlight the life-changing impact of pet adoption while giving the shelter an opportunity to secure additional funding to save more animals.
