A Hopkinsville woman was charged with wanton endangerment after her children were found living in extremely unsanitary conditions on West 15th Street on Friday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they went to the home of 33-year-old Destiny Ulmer after a 17-year-old showed up at the Sheriff’s Office stating he had consumed narcotics at the home and needed help.

Deputies say feces was on the floor and underneath beds, and a strong odor of urine and other substances was coming from the home.

Suspected marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia, was reportedly found in the home, and a box full of cat feces was infested with flies and other insects.

The Department of Community-Based Services was called and reportedly stated they already had an open case and had scheduled to remove one of the children from the home.

Deputies say two other children were found inside the home, adding they had to wear special suits and respirators in order to safely search the home.

Ulmer was arrested and charged with four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
