Eleven Contestants To Eat Ham Biscuits For Charity At Annual Festival

Eleven contestants will compete for the title of best ham biscuit eater during the Trigg County Country Ham Festival in downtown Cadiz.

Kerry Fowler says the event began three years ago after he saw a similar event in Georgia.

click to download audioHam Festival Committee Chairman Beth Sumner and contest organizer Kerry Fowler announced the eleven contestants that will be on the Renaissance stage eating ham biscuits Saturday morning, October 11, at 11:30. This year’s contestants include Jamie Gapp representing the Back to Back Foundation, Tim Bush for Seven Friends, Daxton Lee eating for The Way Christian Youth Center, Donovan Washer eating for the Trigg County Imagination Library, Chandler Young will represent the Trigg County Elf Magic Squad, Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree eating for Special Olympics, Helping Hands will be represented by Michael Oliver, Mikey Hammond will eat for the Pink Ribbon Network, Charlie Van Onselen will eat for the Beta Nu Network, George Radford will represent Genesis Express, and Mark Wrinkle will eat for Child Watch.

In addition to a large trophy for the winning ham biscuit eater, each is trying to bring home a donation to for the organization they are representing.
