Mona Louise (Green) Ajayi, 69, of Randallstown, Maryland, peacefully departed this life on September 23, 2025, after a brief illness.
Born on February 6,1956, in Christian County, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry Lee Green, Jr. and Mary Viola Smoot Green.
Mona accepted Christ at an early age and became a devoted member of West Union Baptist Church in Gracey, Kentucky. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.
A dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Mona served with compassion and excellence at Western State Hospital, the Maryland Department of Corrections, and was employed by Autumn Lake Healthcare at Summit Park, Catonsville, MD, at the time of her passing. Her commitment to healthcare was recognized with numerous awards, including being honored as one of the Top 5 LPNs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gerald Green, nephews Lamarr Wimberly, Demarck Wimberly, Gregory Holloway II, and niece Shayna McMillan.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength cherished by her siblings: Jeanette (Louis) Hackett – Fayetteville, NC; William (Linda) Green – Louisville, KY; Doug (Tina) Greene – Hopkinsville, KY; Diana Greene Johnson – Randallstown, MD; Jamesetta (Robert) Jones – Cadiz, KY; Harriet Boyd – Hopkinsville, KY; Mary (Greg) Holloway – Hampton, VA; Sharon Greene – Ellicott City, MD; Gwendolyn Green Shepard – Douglasville, GA; Felicia (Glenn) Shelton – Hopkinsville, KY; and Phillip (Tonya) Green – Bardstown, KY.
Also mourning her loss and celebrating her life are a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
