The Hopkinsville Community College Foundation successfully hosted its 35th annual Mike Foster Golf Scramble on Friday, raising funds for students.

The event at the Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club was sold out for the seventh consecutive year, with 30 teams and over 90 sponsors.

Funds from the scramble support student resources like textbook scholarships, the Pathfinder Food Pantry, and the Laptop Loaner Program. HCC Foundation Executive Director Rena Young noted that fundraising efforts this year alone enabled the Foundation to award 40 students with $1,000 textbook scholarships.

The scramble is named for Mike Foster, an HCC alumnus and long-time supporter, who played in and co-chaired this year’s event.

On the course, the Trigg County PVA Lauren Fowler-Joiner team—comprising Ryan Joiner, Craig Fowler, Kelley Jordan, and Ryan Williams—took home first place and the $600 prize. Planters Bank finished second, winning $500. Other winners included Golf Cart Doctor in sixth place with a $300 prize, and the UPS Store Hopkinsville, which captured the $100 prize for half the field. Individual skill prizes were also awarded, with Rob Yates and Megan Hailey winning the Longest Putt contests, and Carter Jane Wilson and Mike Hester securing the Longest Drive titles.

The HCC Foundation has already announced next year’s date, October 2, 2026.
