If you have checked your mail in the last week, you may have seen the front cover — as well as the contents — of “Kentucky Living” had a little bit more south western Kentucky flavor than usual.

That’s because Miss Triggy Piggy and the Trigg County Country Ham Festival were showcased — just ahead of this weekend’s three-day 49th Annual “Big Pig Shindig” in downtown Cadiz.

Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Director Beth Sumner confirmed that everything came together over the last nine months, and developed into a strong magazine spread.

Sumner said she had “a feeling it would be positive” when Kentucky Living officials made contact, asking for photo identification of a young child high-fiving Miss Triggy Piggy.

Sumner also noted it was one of the more surprising, special ways to advertise the coming celebration.

The kickoff breakfast is Thursday, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday fast approaching.
