Juveniles Charged & Guns Seized After Shots Fired Into Home

Four juveniles were charged Tuesday in connection with a shooting that happened on Bella Court in Hopkinsville on Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say two people fired shots, hitting the apartment twice before fleeing the area in a vehicle.

Nine shell casings were recovered in the area, Police say, adding they were later called to Moores Drive regarding a stolen vehicle and found it was the same vehicle used in the shooting.

The investigation reportedly led them to get a search warrant for a Lewis Street home where four guns were located, two that had previously been reported stolen in Crofton and Hopkinsville.

Several cell phones were reportedly seized during the investigation.

Police say three 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old were charged in the investigation, two with possession of a handgun by a minor and receiving stolen property, one charged with just possession of a handgun by a minor, and one 16-year-old was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Police say the Lewis Street home that was searched and the arrest was made at was also hit several times during a shooting on September 9th, but no one was injured.
