Engineers will be on-site Friday to do a comprehensive structural review of the Blue Streak Printer Building on East 9th Street.
Thursday night, City Attorney Doug Willen addressed the process after a question from Councilman Chuck Crabtree.
The discussion followed a social media post made by Councilman Travis Martin saying Mayor JR Knight wanted to tear the building down. Willen reminded the Council they are the ultimate decision makers.
Mayor Knight says he does not want the city to be in property management.
City Administrator Troy Body says he did send an email to the Museum about retrieving historic items from the building previously, after he got the impression it was going to be torn down. The fate of the Blue Streak Printer Building remains to be determined.
