The Christian County Colonel Band returned home from Bowling Green Saturday night with the state championship.
The Colonels won the coveted Governor’s Cup in the KMEA State Band contest at L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green Saturday in Class 4-A, The Hopkinsville High School Band of Tigers took third place in their final showing.
The Christian County and Hopkinsville High School bands both earned a spot in the final round at Western Kentucky University Saturday when they competed in the semi-finals at Daviess County High School in Owensboro.
The Christian County Band is under the direction of Anthony Darnell.
