Shoplifting Investigation Leads To Drug Charges In Oak Grove

A report of shoplifting at a gas station on Pembroke Oak Grove Road in Oak Grove led to drug charges Saturday morning.

Oak Grove Police say they were called for 43-year-old Emma Brace of Denver, Colorado, who had several items in her purse that she had shoplifted: two White Claws, bananas, pineapple slices, and four pepperoni slices.

She reportedly attempted to flee from the gas station but was stopped by an employee.

Police say Brace was found to have suspected meth and drug paraphernalia on her, and the man she was with, 42-year-old Anthony Maestas of Thornton, Colorado, stated she had marijuana in his truck as well.

After a search of the truck, Police say suspected meth, marijuana, an unknown substance, and drug paraphernalia were found

35 grams of suspected meth, the unknown brown substance weighed 6.4 grams, and 13.5 grams of marijuana were allegedly found during the investigation.

They were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, trafficking meth, and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. Brace was also charged with theft by unlawful taking.
