Hopkinsville’s favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition is returning once again.
The 24th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk steps off at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, in downtown Hopkinsville.
Presented by the Hopkinsville Division of Parks and Recreation and local sponsors, the free, non-competitive event welcomes walkers, runners, joggers, skaters, bikers, and leashed dogs. The 3.1-mile route begins and ends downtown and features a scenic stretch along the Greenway Rail Trail.
While there’s no registration fee, participants are encouraged to register online in advance — even if they don’t plan to purchase a shirt. A souvenir 2025 Turkey Trot T-shirt is available for $25 by following sign-up instructions under Program: 2025 Turkey Trot at www.HoptownRec.com.
The Turkey Trot has become a beloved holiday tradition, drawing 1,200 to 1,500 participants each year. Organizers hope to see even more families and friends lace up for the fun this Thanksgiving.
Participants should arrive at Founders Square by 7:30 a.m. to check in and sign event-day waivers before the race begins.
