The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County works to everyday to improve the lives of all residents. December is a special time to honor that work, which is what Hopkinsville Mayor JR Knight and Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam did Tuesday evening proclaming the month as Human Rights Month.
Knight recognized the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations on December 10, 1948.
Gilliam acknowledged the international theme bringing the world together.
The Human Rights Commission says everyone can inspire confidence and encourage collective action by bridging the gap between principles and everyday experiences.
